Meerut, March 5, 2025 – A shocking case of betrayal and murder has emerged in Brahmapuri, where a woman and her lover allegedly conspired to kill her husband, Saurabh Rastogi, a former Merchant Navy officer. The crime, which took place on March 4, has sent shockwaves through the city.
Saurabh Rastogi had a promising future ahead. After completing his intermediate studies, he enrolled in a B.Tech course but soon landed a job in the Merchant Navy. In 2016, he married Muskaan Rastogi against her family’s wishes. Their married life went smoothly for a few years, and in 2019, the couple welcomed a daughter, Pihu. To spend more time with his family, Saurabh left his job in the Merchant Navy. However, financial struggles soon surfaced, leading the couple to move to a rented house in Indranagar Phase One, Brahmapuri. To support his family, Saurabh took a job at a plywood company in Partapur. Due to rising expenses, he later decided to seek employment abroad and moved to London in 2023.
While Saurabh was away, his wife Muskaan rekindled a relationship with her former schoolmate, Sahil Shukla. The two had studied together from class one to eight and had remained friends during their school years. In 2019, a classmate created a WhatsApp group that reconnected Muskaan and Sahil. Their casual conversations soon turned into frequent phone calls, and they eventually met at Shopprix Mall, where their relationship took a serious turn.
As their affair deepened, Muskaan began to distance herself from Saurabh. When Saurabh was away, Sahil would frequently visit their home. The couple’s landlord eventually informed Saurabh about Sahil’s presence at the house, which led to a major dispute. Despite repeated confrontations, Muskaan refused to end her relationship with Sahil. Feeling betrayed, Saurabh filed for divorce in 2021. However, on the insistence of family members, he decided to give the marriage another chance and agreed to go to London in 2023 to secure their financial future.
With Saurabh out of the picture, Muskaan and Sahil freely pursued their affair. Muskaan even sent her daughter to live with her parents, ensuring that no obstacles remained in their path. As time passed, the couple decided to take drastic measures and eliminate Saurabh permanently. The duo allegedly conspired to murder him upon his return.
On February 24, 2025, Saurabh returned from London, unaware of the sinister plot against him. Just days later, on March 4, he was brutally murdered. Law enforcement officials are investigating the case, and early reports suggest that Sahil and Muskaan meticulously planned the crime.
The police have detained both Muskaan and Sahil for questioning. Authorities believe that financial motives and the desire to remove Saurabh from the picture led to the heinous act. The case continues to unfold as investigators piece together evidence against the accused.
