The ghost hunters are scheduled to return to Carlisle’s Masonic Hall on Saturday, May 3, 2025,
for an evening ghost hunt after a spooky ‘figure’ was reportedly seen during a previous visit. The evening will run from 9:00 PM until 2:00 AM at the old building at 10 Portland Square, Carlisle, Cumbria. The event costs £20.05, including a booking fee.
This probe is one in a series of significant paranormal incidents in Carlisle. For example, the Carlisle City Ghost Tour provides city walking tours looking at the darker history of Carlisle, and there are upcoming events on May 3 2025.
Their second visit to the hall on May 3 will be the group’s second time at the hall but their first visit made a very strong impact on the investigators who felt a kettle switch itself on and heard footsteps and banging.
Jack Bell, a member of Paranormal Inc., said: “I saw my first ever figure of something in the building, it was weird.”There were only five of us in the building at that point, and we all just sat around talking. “We’re in a bar area where we all got together and had a few drinks. I turned around and looked towards the bar area, and there was just a figure standing there. I had to do a double-take. I thought ‘Oh my God, I’ve just seen a figure. ‘”
They utilize a variety of different methods in an attempt to connect with the paranormal. They use spirit boxes which scan local radio frequencies which assist spirits in communicating, dowsing rods, EVPs, touch sensitive balls, and temperature sensors.
Also, English Heritage will be presenting “Ghost Tales at Carlisle Castle” during October 30 to November 1, 2025, with hair-raising tours of the ancient castle.
English Heritage is hosting these events to mirror Carlisle’s rich history and community enthusiasm for investigating its paranormal side.
