Mumbai’s prestigious Lilavati Hospital finds itself at the eye of a complex scandal of massive financial irregularities and the recovery of objects associated with occult rituals. The most renowned hospital in Maharashtra is now under the spell of black magic and evil eye. Know the whole story here.
Financial Misappropriation Allegations
The Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust (LKMMT), which oversees the hospital, has accused former trustees and associated individuals of misappropriating over Rs 1,250 cr. A forensic audit reportedly uncovered extensive financial irregularities, including fraudulent transactions and unauthorized offshore dealings. The trust has filed multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) and lodged complaints with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to initiate a thorough investigation.
Discovery of Occult Items
In a shocking twist, present-day trustees assert they have discovered some evidence that would indicate black magic rituals were held on the grounds of the hospital. To be specific, eight urns full of human remains, skulls, hair, rice, and other occult-related objects were supposedly dug up under the floor of the office of the present-day trustees. This discovery was said to have been made after tips were given by previous employees and was captured on videotape during excavation.
Official Statements and Legal Measures
Permanent trustee of LKMMT Prashant Mehta said that the trust holds itself to stringent standards and makes sure that money allocated for healthcare services is spent exclusively in the interest of patients. He underlined the need for immediate action to bring responsible persons to account. As of latest news The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against 17 people for allegedly misappropriating ₹1,200 crore from the public charitable trust that manages Lilavati Hospital in Bandra.
Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, who is currently the Executive Director of Lilavati Hospital, has also responded to the allegations. He emphasized the seriousness of the case, citing that the accused parties are presently abroad, in nations like Belgium and Dubai.
Response from Accused Parties
Chetan Mehta, the son of veteran trustee Vijay Mehta, has termed the allegations as malicious and baseless. He particularly denied allegations of black magic, saying they don’t even deserve a response and are meant to create a sensation only.
Ongoing Investigations
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police has opened an inquiry into the suspected financial irregularities. The LKMMT is calling on the government to speed up the investigation to regain the confidence of the people and ensure that the guilty are punished.
As the investigation goes on, the hospital is still operating, with efforts to uphold its image for quality healthcare despite these severe allegations. Keep Reading Dip Dives for more such news.
