As actress Soha Ali Khan plays her darkest role to date in the supernatural thriller *Chhorii 2*, she revealed a true-life ghost experience that once disturbed her family very much. Soha, who has appeared in movies such as *Dil Maange More*, *Rang De Basanti*, and *Khoya Khoya Chand*, was otherwise occupied promoting *Chhorii 2*, which features Nushrratt Bharuccha in the lead. In an interview with *Mirchi Plus*, Soha took everyone by surprise by sharing a haunted experience from her own life when she was a kid.
Her family was compelled to shift overnight to the Rs 800 crore Pataudi Palace because of this experience. Discussing playing a menacing maid in *Chhorii 2*, the topic changed to haunted locations and unusual experiences on sets. That was when Soha shared a hair-raising tale from her childhood. She stated that her family was forced to vacate their ancestral residence, Peeli Kothi, which is located close to Pataudi Palace, due to a chilling experience. She added that the shift wasn’t due to renovation or relocation schemes. Rather, she asserted that a ghost slapped her great-aunt and left the imprint quite evident. Following this spine-chilling experience, her family promptly shifted to the Pataudi Palace. Even now, Peeli Kothi is vacant, and Soha said it resembles a ruin, suggesting that something may still be amiss with the location. This real-life ghost story gives Soha’s character in *Chhorii 2*, where she will play the villain for the first time, a personal touch. Directed by Vishal Furia, the movie picks up seven years after the first *Chhorii*, with Nushrratt Bharuccha reprising her role as Sakshi, a mother whose daughter Ishani suffers from a condition that makes her avoid light.
The movie also features Gashmeer Mahajani, Hardika Sharma, Mukul Srivastava, and Kuldeep Sareen, and it is currently streaming on Prime Video. If you are a believer in ghost stories and haunted houses, Soha’s real-life encounter would frighten you more than the movie itself. Soha Ali Khan started her career as an actress with the Bengali film *Iti Srikanta*, playing the role of a religious lady, in 2004. She made her entry into Bollywood with *Dil Maange More!!! * with Shahid Kapoor in the same year, though the movie fared badly at the box office. Following a couple more movies that hadn’t made a significant impact, came her big success with *Rang De Basanti* in 2006. In that movie, she performed both as a contemporary university student and also the freedom activist Durgawati Devi in contrasting scenes of the film. It fetched her an IIFA Best Supporting Actress award and a Filmfare nomination for Best Supporting Actress. *Rang De Basanti* was a massive success with the critics and audiences alike. Recently, she starred in the indie psychological thriller *69*, depicting a different and bold aspect of her acting career.
