A haunted antique doll believed to be possessed by the spirit of a jilted bride named Elizabeth has reportedly attacked 17 men, leaving scratches, bruises, and fear in her wake. Paranormal investigator Lee Steer, 37, who owns the doll, claims the spirit within the toy shows a strong hatred toward married men in particular.
Steer purchased the eerie plaything for nearly $1,000 on eBay and now houses it in the “bridal doll room” of his museum in the UK. During a recent investigation, he suffered severe back scratches, which he believes were inflicted by Elizabeth’s spirit. “People say it hates married men,” Steer said. “I suspect it to be the most haunted doll in the UK.”
Elizabeth’s wrath isn’t limited to solo investigators. Steer was with his girlfriend, Sarah Carter, and another colleague when he was scratched. Fellow investigator Jon-Paul Kenny, 34, also encountered the doll’s fury while live on TikTok, claiming his shirt was tugged and he felt an invisible presence. Kenny believes he resembles Elizabeth’s lost fiancé, which might explain her aggression.
While men seem to be frequent targets, women remain largely unaffected. Carter, however, avoids the bridal room altogether, especially in the dark. “If I ever do go to switch the light on, she messes with the light switch,” she said.
Elizabeth has allegedly thrown objects and projected eerie words like “bride” and “haunting” onto nearby screens. Her motive remains unclear, though theories range from heartbreak to jealousy over new museum exhibits, including items from The Conjuring.
Despite the terror she brings, Steer insists Elizabeth isn’t going anywhere. “She is making herself known most particularly,” he said.
